Overview

Wilder Systems is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join the emerging leader in aerospace automation. We are a startup based in east Austin designing, developing, and deploying robots that build airplanes. WS engineers multiple application end effectors for robotic drilling, defastening, and even a drive-through style robotic F-16 wash system.

As part of a fast moving and growing team, you will be responsible for supporting Wilder Systems robotic solutions in the field at customer sites. Specific tasks include troubleshooting, training customers, planning and executing solutions, and communicating with internal and external teams.


Responsibilities

As a Field Technician with Wilder Systems, you will collaborate with our team and the customer to perform onsite technical troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of our robotic solutions that perform aircraft manufacturing and maintenance tasks. This job requires a unique combination of technical problem solving abilities as well as customer facing communication skills. You may travel extensively (~75%) with all expenses paid to aerospace facilities across the United States.

  • Perform on-site technical support and preventative maintenance of robotic solutions. Additional off-site technical support activities as required
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs including correct preparation of repairs
  • Provide customer training on setup, service, and repair
  • Manage customer communication while onsite and ensure smooth operation of solutions
  • Follow strict safety guidelines when working at customer sites and around equipment
  • Complete service reports and close maintenance tickets


Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a Technical field
  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure customer success
  • 1+ year experience in a similar hands-on technical role or demonstration of technical aptitude
  • Understanding of basic theory of operation of mechanical and electrical systems of a robot
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and have a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical control systems
  • Self-motivated to solve problems independently and in customer settings
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Willingness to travel up to ~75%
